How does your garden grow? Weather happens. It’s uncontrollable. I grew these mixed media paintings in my garden and and the ashes of my fire pit. They are a combination of wood, oil paint, dirt, mud, ashes, beeswax, and mostly the changing weather. I really enjoy interesting surface textures and am experimenting with different and somewhat unconventional ways of achieving that. The beginnings of these paintings (and more) I discovered in my garden when I was weeding and pruning with my kids. I’ve now “planted” several paintings. There is something beautiful to me about natural deterioration and passage of time. There is very little about it I can control about it. But I can find Jesus even in This Mess. Can you? Bring on the bad weather.
Note. Some day I want figure out how to time-lapse process but it takes weeks. I don’t have a camera capable of that.
