#Where is Jesus in this mess?

Oil painting on Canvas
I had high anxiety and an addictive personality. Creating these paintings is how I cope when I'm in the midst of a mess and feeling overwhelmed.
Where is Jesus in this mess? Touch and see for yourself. Can you find Him?
Background and creation process:
I worked many years on becoming a skilled portrait painter, but never felt good enough to paint Jesus. Why? Because I didn’t know what He looks like so I couldn’t paint him perfectly. The result. I stopped painting, couldn’t get started, and wouldn’t even try. I also felt He was untouchable and not present. Starting September 28, 2018 I decided to stop using my limitations as an excuse and instead embrace my limitations and limit myself even more. Some of my limitations include only working on paintings for limited time with my non-dominant useless left hand, not using any brushes, and no references. I have now failed 200+ times painting Jesus, my goal is to fail 1000 times. I’m overcoming my fear of painting Jesus, create more in less time, and I’m seeing my emotional limitations in a new way. My limitations help me. I’ve also already seen how this project encourages others to look for Jesus in their mess. I believe God is present in every mess. I encourage others to find Him through their own creation process and in my messy art. #whereisjesusinthismess
